April Palencia

Architect

April has over 25 years of experience in architecture and project management. She has designed and been involved in the design development and permitting of various project types including single-family residential, multifamily residential, commercial and public buildings, school campuses, hotel renovations, and a church remodel.

She graduated from the University of Miami in Florida, where she earned a Bachelor in Architecture with a minor in Anthropology. She sat on the board of a non-profit called The Sustainability Project for 10 years, and was a member of the American Institute of Architects for several years.

Since 2000, April has worked for private companies doing both private and public work, winning projects through writing proposals, interviewing, and word-of-mouth networking. She takes projects from initial site visits to concept designs, developing the design through the Construction Document phase and obtaining land use and building permits. She can provide bidding support in both public and private arenas and enjoys supporting projects through construction. April especially enjoys developing and nurturing client relationships, as this approach tends to net the best design solutions.

When she’s not at work, you can catch April at the beach, on the baseball field, or in the football stadium watching her sons play their favorite sports.

A woman with shoulder-length hair wearing jeans and sandals is standing and smiling, with a young boy in a blue shirt and white pants on her back, giving a piggyback ride, making a funny face. They are inside a restaurant or cafe with outdoor seating and large potted plants.
